Obviously, those on thesamba, are VW enthusiast. I’m not sure if I’m thinking about value, or keeping it original. He said it would be much more valuable with the original low mileage engine in it, then an engine that had to be rebuilt. My friend said I need to put a different engine in it, and keep the original engine on the shelf. I think it’s important to keep the original engine in it, and in the event it needs to be rebuilt, have it rebuilt. Actually, for whatever it’s worth, I would like to take it to some car shows, and report it as an original 1960 VW beetle. In the event I want to sell it, put the original engine back in, and it will be much more valuable. A very good friend of mine suggested that I remove the engine, put it on the shelf, and replace it another. It also has a reported original engine with 67,000 miles, and appears to be the original engine. ![]() I recently purchased a 1960 VW, that appears to be all original.
